Where does one start the planning of an Island Room? With an inspiration piece, of course. How did the first bedroom down the hall become… The Turtle Room? Blake’s (Our Son) Room was created with the inspiration of a Pier One (sp?) Pier

The turtle theme and the color pallet came from the pillow, and the process began. I am sad to say that the pillow that originally began our decorating process for this room is no longer with us. Over time, some items do not “stand the test of time” and must be replaced. As this one did! But turtles are still going strong …. and I think always will – It’s The Turtle Room.

Advice Time (name??????)
- So, find that inspiration piece to get the ball rolling. A theme or even color(s) will start the process.
- Keep the room fairly simple and not too cluttered.
- And … most of all – – HAVE FUN with theme & process.
